We are proud to announce our support for the Stephen Hughes Memorial Ball, which will take place at The DeVere Village Hotel on Saturday 28th September 2024, with all proceeds going to Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice – the latter of which is the adopted charity for all Ameon corporate fundraising activity.
We have agreed to act as the main sponsor of the black-tie event, which is in memory of well-liked Blackpool man, Stephen Hughes, who, at the age of 46, was diagnosed with stomach cancer and spent his last days receiving palliative care in Trinity Hospice.
Stephen was well known to a number of the Ameon team, so the support has special significance. And it is hoped that the event will not only generate funds on the evening, from ticket sales, auctions and raffles etc, but will also help to raise awareness of a type of cancer that is often difficult to diagnose.
Stephen was an extremely gregarious individual and the life and soul of every party, so the ball, in his honour, will reflect that with an evening full of spirit, laughter and dancing – with music performed by one of the north west’s leading party and dance bands, ‘Touch the Pearl.’
Response to date has been exceptional and the organisers, Stephen’s family, are hopeful of achieving the £20,000 target for charity, whilst remembering a man with a big heart and a personality to match.
