When Ameon’s FM and special projects co-ordinator, Lisa Kelly, heard that the ‘Mission Christmas’ Cash for Kids radio appeal was likely to suffer a shortfall in presents for around 27,000 underprivileged children this year, she was moved to do something about it. And her mission has resulted in an £860.00 donation of gifts for children in Lancashire, from the ever-generous workforce at Ameon.
Lisa, who is a grandmother of four, believes that no child should ever be without a present on Christmas Day, and that’s obviously a view shared by her colleagues, who responded by donating £660 of the total in just one morning in the office!
The cash raised was used to purchase several trolley loads of gifts, for children of all ages, from retailer, B&M Bargains, who have sponsored the ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal for a decade.
Says Lisa: “I’m really proud of our team here at Ameon, who answered the call to give local children something to smile about on Christmas Day.
As a company, we support lots of worthy causes, but on a personal level, our people here are also incredibly selfless when it comes to helping those in need, as they’ve proved with their generosity for this initiative.”
The money raised has been translated into everything from toys for younger children to toiletries and electrical gifts for teenagers; to ensure that nobody misses out this Christmas.
Well done to all involved.
