Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

Providing Efficient Solutions

Ameon Limited is a medium-sized company and a leading force in the provision of mechanical, electrical and construction services, providing clients with efficient solutions to their requirements. The company takes pride in its reputation as a first-class, client-focused organisation, supporting each new contract with proven experience and expertise, delivered within a carbon-neutral operating framework.

The scope of service to the building industry ranges from initial concept and design through to complete installation, and extends into the provision of preventative maintenance.

The following statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 for the financial year ending 31 March 2025, and sets out the steps Ameon Limited has taken during the last 12 months to address the potential for slavery and human trafficking within its business and supply chains. This statement should be read in conjunction with the company’s Purchasing Procedure and Whistle-blowing Policy.

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which involve the deprivation of a person’s liberty for personal or commercial gain. Ameon operates a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, supported by effective systems and controls to prevent such practices within its operations and supply chains, in line with its carbon-neutral and responsible operating principles.

The company is also committed to maintaining transparency within its business and supply chains, consistent with its disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Ameon expects the same high standards from all subcontractors, suppliers and business partners, and contracting processes include clear prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children. Suppliers are expected to hold their own supply chains to equivalent standards.

This policy applies to all persons working for or on behalf of Ameon, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, secondees, volunteers, agents, subcontractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.

This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and may be amended by the company at any time.

Responsibility for the Policy

The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with legal and ethical obligations, and that all those under its control comply with it. The Office & Finance Manager (OFM) has primary, day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, responding to queries, and auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.

Management at all levels is responsible for ensuring those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy and receive adequate and regular training on modern slavery risks within supply chains. Feedback on this policy is welcomed, and comments, suggestions or queries should be directed to the OFM.

Compliance with the Policy

You must ensure that you read, understand and comply with this policy.

The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of the business or its supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for, or under the control of, Ameon. You are required to avoid any activity that could lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

You must notify your Line Manager or the OFM as soon as possible if you believe or suspect a conflict with this policy has occurred, or may occur. Concerns relating to modern slavery within any part of the business or supply chains should be raised at the earliest possible stage.

If you believe or suspect that a breach of this policy has occurred, or may occur, you must notify your Line Manager / OFM, or report the matter in accordance with the Whistle-blowing Policy, without delay.

If you are unsure whether a particular act, the treatment of workers, or working conditions within any tier of the supply chain constitutes modern slavery, you should raise the matter with your Line Manager or the OFM.

Ameon encourages openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith, even where those concerns later prove to be unfounded. The company is committed to ensuring that no individual suffers detrimental treatment as a result of reporting concerns in good faith, consistent with its responsible and carbon-neutral operating principles. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment connected with raising a concern. Any such treatment should be reported to the OFM immediately. If the matter is not resolved, employees should raise it formally through the Grievance Procedure outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Communication & Awareness of This Policy

Training on this policy, and on the risks the business faces from modern slavery within its supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us, with regular training provided as required.

Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery is communicated to all suppliers, subcontractors and business partners at the outset of each business relationship and reinforced as appropriate thereafter, in line with the company’s responsible and carbon-neutral operating principles.

Breaches of This Policy

Any employee who breaches this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.

The company may terminate relationships with other individuals or organisations working on its behalf where a breach of this policy occurs.

This policy will be reviewed on a regular basis and updated as necessary.
