We’re not content with simply achieving goals in the construction industry these days because we’re now giving competitors the run around on the sports field too…and supporting grass roots football to boot!
Having agreed a shirt sponsorship with West Coast Sports FC U-13s, the good news is that apart from having a snazzy new kit, emblazoned with the company logo, a little of Ameon’s success seems to be rubbing off on the team. It is currently unbeaten and lying second in League One of the Poulton and District Primary League, and still competing in the cup competition – aiming for a place in the final, which will be played at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium.
The club, which was established four years ago and has teams in several age groups, prides itself on its teams looking as professional as possible, and this means full kits for each age group, so that they stand out from the other teams in their respective leagues.
And, according to club secretary, David Ratcliff, a full strip, carrying a sponsor’s name helps to instil a sense of pride amongst the youngsters, which has positive outcomes on the pitch. He commented: “We’re delighted that Ameon is sponsoring our new U-13s strip, because without its generous support, grass roots teams such as ours would find it extremely difficult to fund kit, due to the ongoing increases in costs we are experiencing across the board.”
Managing director, Robin Lawson believes that support for grass roots football is essential if the game is to develop. He added: “Junior football leagues are where children get to thrive in a competitive environment, and without them, we might find it difficult to develop tomorrow’s home-grown players, who might one day grace the Premier League.
“It’s essential that business supports young teams, because even if they don’t unearth the next Harry Kane or Marcus Rashford, this is where many children learn the value of teamwork, develop their social skills and also reap the health benefits of a great outdoor sporting activity: all of which make sponsorship worthwhile.”
