You’d have to go a long way to top the fundraising antics of the ‘Ameon 25’ challenges during 2021, so that’s exactly what eight female members of our staff are doing, as they go the extra mile on a virtual 290-mile coast to coast cycle endurance relay from Blackpool to Scarborough and back…all in 25-hours, and all to support the fantastic work of Brian House Children’s Hospice in Blackpool.
Our eight-strong team of cyclists: Jean O’ Hagan, Susan Connolly, Louise Field, Caroline Thistlethwaite, Debra Wraith, Stacey Perkes, Lisa Kinsey and Lisa Kelly will each complete 30 minutes flat out cycling in relay over a 25-hour period, in an attempt to maintain a target of 6.05 miles per half-hour. This is no mean feat, given that the average age of the group is 50!
A big thank you goes to Jamie Ashworth and Tariq Robertson, owners of T12 Body Transformation, who have agreed to loan a state-of-the-art Concept2 BikeEng static gym bike for the attempt, which will take place at the Ameon HQ on Saturday 14th January 2022.
The purpose of the event is to add to the significant donations generated by our ‘Ameon 25’ fundraisers, which to date have already reached £18,000 towards our target of £25,000 for Brian House.
Our team hits the virtual road at 9:00am on Friday 14th January 2022, so please give a virtual cheer and donate whatever you can afford in the process. Your support will spur the team members on to achieve the 290 mile goal with a smile on their faces!
