A 262-bedroom new build hotel built as part of the airport city masterplan. The M&E services installation at the ibis Hotel, Manchester Airport was delivered as part of a modern hotel development providing high-quality guest accommodation, reception and lounge areas, restaurant and bar facilities, back-of-house spaces, and associated plant rooms to serve airport travellers. The project comprised the installation and commissioning of complete mechanical, electrical and public health services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water, drainage, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security and life-safety systems, ensuring a safe, energy-efficient and comfortable environment while supporting the operational demands of a busy international airport hotel.

Project Delivery Highlights:
- Delivered the complete mechanical, electrical and public health services installation for a new-build international hotel located adjacent to Manchester Airport, providing guest bedrooms together with reception, restaurant, bar, staff facilities and associated back-of-house accommodation.
- Installed a resilient electrical distribution network incorporating dedicated utility supplies, main LV switchgear, rising busbar distribution, landlord and tenant distribution boards, automatic transfer switches and standby generator supplies to maintain operation of critical life safety services during mains power failure.
- Completed a comprehensive LED lighting installation throughout guest bedrooms, circulation spaces, reception, restaurant, plant areas and external environments, incorporating intelligent lighting controls, occupancy sensing, emergency lighting and centralised lighting management to maximise energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Delivered fully integrated life safety systems including addressable fire alarm, emergency lighting, disabled refuge and disabled WC alarm systems, smoke ventilation interfaces and standby power infrastructure to satisfy current fire safety legislation and hotel operational requirements.
- Installed security and communications infrastructure comprising CCTV, intruder alarm, access control, structured cabling, telecommunications and TV/satellite distribution, providing secure operation throughout guest and staff areas.
- Installed high-efficiency VRF heating and cooling systems serving guest bedrooms and public areas, supported by central air handling units, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, general extract systems and smoke ventilation to maintain indoor air quality and occupant comfort throughout the building.
- Delivered complete domestic water services including sectional GRP cold water storage tanks, packaged Wilo booster sets, domestic hot water generation, insulated distribution pipework, condensate drainage and syphonic rainwater drainage systems, with all critical plant monitored via the Building Management System.
- Integrated all principal mechanical plant, electrical infrastructure, utility metering and alarm monitoring through the Building Management System, enabling centralised monitoring, energy management, fault reporting and efficient long-term operation.
