It’s the time of year again when all are focused on dressing the Christmas tree at home. However, at Ameon we’re also looking ahead to how real trees can be put to effective use for the environment and for local worthy causes post-Christmas, which is why we’re once again sponsoring the Trinity Hospice Christmas Tree Collection across The Fylde.
Rather than disposing of real trees in the New Year through waste collection services, the Trinity Hospice campaign invites people to sign up, for free, to have their used tree collected during January by the scheme’s volunteers, including Ameon personnel and vehicles, with the spent spruces and pines being used to bolster the sand dunes along the south Fylde coastline, to help reduce erosion of a delicate local ecosystem that is a unique wildlife habitat.
Not only does the scheme support the environment but it also raises vital funds for Trinity Hospice and other local charities, as each tree has a value to the local authorities who fund the environmental work on the coastline.
We’re proud to be a long-time supporter of the campaign and hope the public across The Fylde will get involved yet again to prove that a Tree isn’t just for Christmas, because it can deliver vital benefits for the environment, long after the tinsel and baubles have been removed.
