We’ve found a way to keep a key European charity bike challenge rolling by weighing in with sponsorship support to help get a cycle team across the line in Italy; in aid of Brian House Children’s Hospice, Blackpool.
We’ve become a platinum sponsor of the Munich to Rome cycle challenge, which will see 15 cyclists tackling an 800-mile ride over the alps, starting 14th June and finishing at Rome’s Colosseum, seven days later.
The Munich-Rome challenge should raise £25,000 for the charity, and Ameon, is fully committed to helping achieve that ambition.
Commenting on the company’s support, construction director, Dave Scott, said: “Becoming a platinum sponsor of the challenge is the perfect collaboration for us, as Brian House is already our adopted charity; therefore we were keen to get involved.
“The guys in the team, which has an age range of 30 to 72-years-old, have already proven themselves with charity endurance events since 2012 and they represent the public-spirited attitude of Fylde Coast people.
The charity supported here costs £1.5 Million per year to run – with little government funding – but provides it’s life-enhancing care to children with some of the most challenging medical conditions imaginable – so it needs our help.”
Andy Charles, for the cycle challenge team, is delighted with support from businesses and individuals. He commented:
“Munich’s famous Olympic Tower will be our start and we’re adding a detour to the Leaning Tower of Pisa to our itinerary, following which we’ll head to the finish line at The Colosseum in Rome. And by this time, through all our challenges, we’ll have completed a loop of Europe, connected by iconic towers.
“We’re proud to say that every penny from sponsorship, from socially conscious companies such as Ameon, and also from private donations, goes directly to the charity, as we self-fund – covering all our own expenses individually in the process, so that we know the maximum amount possible gets to where it’s needed most.”
Andy finishes by adding: “And don’t forget, there’s still time to show support for our endeavours by donating to Brian House Children’s Hospice, Blackpool directly or by following the Just Giving link here.”
