We’re now on site for the £4.8 million building services infrastructure phase in the construction of the tallest residential tower in Manchester’s New Bailey district: the 23-storey, Plot C1.
Appointed on the English Cities Fund development by main contractor, Morgan Sindall Construction, we’re responsible for the design, build and installation of all mechanical and electrical services systems in the tower, serving 211 one and two-bedroom apartments and the building’s communal spaces. A photo-voltaic panel array will also be mounted on the roof of the development to provide solar power, in support of the tower’s energy needs.
The work on Plot C1 is the fourth residential development in New Bailey for Ameon since 2015, and the second project working with Morgan Sindall Construction. Previous contracts include Plot A5 (90 apartments), Plot A6 (135 apartments) and Plot A7 (199 apartments).
Commenting on the contract, commercial director, Adam Sutton, said: “This is a fantastic development by ECF, and having worked in New Bailey for several years now, we can see just how much impact buildings such as this are having on this area’s regeneration. And it’s great to be able to play our part in helping to shape what will be a vibrant and desirable residential district in the very near future.”
